Many 'lasts' and an awesome farewell party

The last week at work (for a while at least) was filled with heaps of activities, meetings, hand overs, a training session and a lessons learnt workshop.

The client meeting where we introduced my successor went well, and my favorite coffee shop in the city, Standing Room Only, served us liquid excellence. This coffee shop comes highly recommended and will surely be missed while traveling. And these chaps have good sense of humor as well:

During the week Alex helped me to add the final touches to Wookie - we designed and built a bike rack to keep the bike inside the van. Awesome work, I'm really happy with the result. Thanks Alex!

The solar panel is doing its job well and keeping the insides of the fridge cool and the battery charged.

Yesterday night we celebrated my farewell from work at the Toldeo Lounge, a Spanish Tapas bar. We had a lovely crowd there from work, had loads of fun and many bottles of vino. The live music and tasty tapas added to this genuine experience. It was definitely a good choice to go there.

The evening ended in the Crown, the big casino in Perth. Always an interesting mix of people there.

The Countdown is set, the adventure will start coming Wednesday.

  1. Hey Richard,Standing Room Only are a client of ours - we did their logo, cards and some merchandise for them. I am a friend of Jamie (Michael's father) who I met through motocross in Perth. They have an additional new coffee shop now in North Perth called Addison and Steele you should check it out too..

    1. Hi Shannon,
Awesome, I didn't know you were involved there as well!
I've informed my coffee snob friends about Addison and Steele and trust they will try it out for me.
Took me a while to respond to your comment - congratulations, you were the first one! The first free wifi hotspot I found on this trip was in Esperance, out in the sticks (that I really love) you got hardly enough signal to send a text message ;-)

Thanks god you started a new blog, I really look forward being provided with countless of those beautiful pictures we're so accustomed with ;-)

They really lighten up those grey days during Austrian winter...

Anyhow, all the best for you my friend, enjoy the trip and get back well.

    cheers

PS: I promise to leave some more comments here than the last times (as I finally have an anonymous Google account now ;-) )

  3. Well done G, and welcome to the 21st century! ;-)

Plenty of new material on the blog - despite writing every day, I struggle to upload the posts as I'm in real remote areas as present. Should get easier once I'm through the Goldfields and the Nullabor.
