Travel Companion

Finally, after probably 20+ years, I'm playing the guitar again. Not just any guitar, the exact model that I was looking for a long time: a Seagull S6. What a fitting name for the adventures to come this year!

Features of the Seagull  S6 are solid Cedar top, Canadian Wild Cherry back and sides, maple neck, rosewoodfingerboard, signature headstock design for straight string pull to maintain the guitars tuning, hand crafted neck, Fishman Sonitone pickup with tone and volume controls in the sound hole. This guitar is in Trans Red, the gloss top is said to give the sound more projection while the rest of the body has a satin finish. Link. http://www.seagullguitars.com/seagull_s6_red_gt.html

An awesome piece of kit! I've been practicing daily for the last 10 days - since I bought it - and my fingertips are slowly being conditioned to the steel strings. Might still take a few months though ;-)

Happy Australia Day!

Happy Australia Day everybody!

While the name of the holiday causes some controversy every year (some call it 'invasion day'), it can lead to an interesting debate about the different perceptions of it.

Perth presents itself with perfectly hot and sunny weather, ideal for spending time outdoors (albeit in the shade!), having a BBQ with friends at the park, beach or in the backyard.

I've attended the beautiful citizenship ceremony at Vic Park in the morning, with some interesting speeches and a lot of people from many different countries becoming new citizens in the multicultural Australia.

The title for the most creative dress goes to the chap in the picture. Everybody can have a guess which two nations he represents ;-)

The countdown has started - time for a new blog

Only 3 more weeks to go at work, but a lot of stuff still to be done. Making steady progress every day towards the goal of getting started for my big trip with the camper van, named "Wookie", by its previous owners.

Leaving work and a regular life behind for hitting the road, looking for adventure and personal development to feed the body, mind, spirit and soul. How exciting!

Keep your eyes peeled my friends, I'll keep you updated through this blog.
