Let's quickly recapture
the last few days:
After a brief stint in
Austria after the Iceland trip and the wonderful BBQ with family &
friends in Graz, I traveled back to Australia. The flight with Qatar
Airlines was long yet quite relaxed.
Kaye and Greg picked me up
from the airport and I had a bed in the house for the first night.
I went to the Storehouseyesterday – my preferred 'office' to hang out in Mount Evelyn.
Great coffee as usual, quick Internet and a nice chia pudding as
lunch. Got many things sorted out yesterday, from banking stuff to
citizenship application tasks, answering emails and sending off
photos to friends I haven't been in touch with while in Europe. And
phoning a lot of people!

I walked down the 5km to
Montrose to visit Hahndorf Fine Chocolates, do some vegetable
shopping and visit Kaye in the bank. Hahndorf Fine Chocolates are
presenting their products nicely, and I sampled some of their stuff.
Unfortunately their dark chocolates are still relatively sweet from
my palate.
Slivered almonds in dark chocolate - and I ate them all! |
It was a clear and
extremely cold night. According to the weather report, it went down
to almost -2 degrees, but huddled in my sleeping bag with a blanket
on top and a hoody on I slept quite well until my jet-lag woke me up
around 4am.
Getting out of bed when it
is dark at 6.30am and probably only 3 degrees was not exactly fun,
but I couldn't sleep anymore, finished my meditation session already
and was looking forward to a hot cup of coffee in the house.

Brrrrrrr |
Luckily I only read it after getting up in the morning |
I continued to work on
some stuff in the Storehouse and had another productive morning. I'll
meet Alex in downtown Melbourne tomorrow and will stay in the city
overnight. Saturday I'll probably visit an AFL match in the glorious
MCG and am planning to migrate north afterwards as it is just too
cold down here for camping with my setup.
I feel the need to share a
picture that I took at Sanguine Estate, a red 5 star James Halliday
winery in Heathcote, that I visited with Kaye before I left for my
trip to Austria. In a communication training at MCI, we've learned
about the four temperaments – choleric, melancholic, sanguine and
phlegmatic. In applied terms, this picture explains the four
temperaments. In addition, the Hunter family motto is a near perfect
fit of my last two months while I was recovering:
